COVER REVEAL ~ Grace For Drowning by Maya Cross

Hope is a dangerous thing. I know that more than most. Everything good I've ever had has been stolen from me — my friends, my fiance, my innocence, some would say even my sanity. All I have left is the cage. Fighting is the only thing that eases the ache inside me even a little. It’s the only thing that keeps the bottle at bay.

I was content to ride out my life alone. I was done dreaming that things could be better. But then I met Grace, and suddenly, all I could do was dream.

She's battling those same demons, only she's losing. I don’t want to care, but something about her calls to me. That pain in her eyes is so sharp, so familiar. I know it’s only a matter of time before it pulls her below the surface.

I can help her, and maybe, just maybe, she can help me too. For the first time in what feels like forever, I’ve got hope, and that scares the hell out of me.

(This is a full length novel with no cliffhanger. There will be a sequel, but this book resolves all the story elements by the end. It is written with dual perspectives, so both Logan and Grace get their say.)

There were fresh tears rising behind my eyes now, and this time they weren’t for me. I felt like the world’s biggest bitch. “I…I’m sorry, Logan. I’m sorry.”

He nodded, seemingly not trusting himself to speak. I couldn’t blame him. That scene was more horrific than anything I’d experienced in my life. I was struck by an immense sense of shame. How much death had Logan seen? How many friends had been ripped away from him before his eyes? It didn’t bear thinking about. And here I was crying over one lost life. I probably looked so childish. If Logan could find a way to overcome his pain, then so could I.
“How do you stop it destroying you?” I asked.

"By acknowledging you don’t control the world. We all makes choices. Some of them are good, others are a fucking disaster, but very few things are the result of a single action. What if our CO had sent us to another village that day? Or the insurgent leader was slow with his dinner and the attack came five minutes later? What if Ace never enlisted at all? There are a million variables to everything. Blame isn’t black and white. I know I contributed to his death in some small way, but I also know I’m not responsible. You need to realise that too.” He stepped closer and reached out to brush my face where a single tear had leaked down. “There’s a girl in here somewhere who deserves a second chance, and you owe it to her to make that happen.”

The tenderness in his voice filled me with warmth. I stared up at him, everything inside me in tatters. I hurt for me and for him, for Tom and for Ace. There was so much pain, and right then it felt like we were both ready to drown in it. I desperately wanted something to cut through all that, if only for a moment.

There was barely a foot between our faces now, and slowly but surely, that space was shrinking further still. His hand lingered on my cheek, his eyes locked to mine. I could feel the heat of him enveloping my skin like steam, his scent swelling in my nostrils. There was something stirring in my stomach, something hungry and desperate and lonely. I knew I needed to look away, to break the spell of that moment, but his sheer presence held me in a trance.

He stood poised over me for what felt like a lifetime, gaze hungry, breath trembling, fingers dancing tiny circles across my skin, then with a low growl he pulled back.

Maya Cross is a writer who enjoys making people blush. Growing up with a mother who worked in a book store, she read a lot from a very young age, and soon enough picked up a pen of her own. She’s tried her hands at a whole variety of genres including horror, science fiction, and fantasy, but funnily enough, it was the sexy stuff that stuck. She has now started this pen name as an outlet for her spicier thoughts (they were starting to overflow). She likes her heroes strong but mysterious, her encounters sizzling, and her characters true to life.

She believes in writing familiar narratives told with a twist, so most of her stories will feel comfortable, but hopefully a little unique. Whatever genre she's writing, finding a fascinating concept is the first, and most important step.

The Alpha Group is her first attempt at erotic romance.

When she's not writing, she's playing tennis, trawling her home town of Sydney for new inspiration, and drinking too much coffee.

BLOG TOUR ~ Frenched & Yanked by Melanie Harlow!

When Tucker Branch, playboy heir to Branch Bolt and Screw, screws and bolts a week before their wedding, Mia Devine wants nothing more than to crawl under her newly monogrammed sheets and plan a funeral for her dignity. But her friends convince her that bitter tastes better when it’s drowned in Bordeaux, so Mia grits her teeth and packs her bags, determined to make the best of her luxurious Paris honeymoon—alone.

She never planned on meeting Lucas Fournier.

The easygoing bartender’s scruffy good looks and less-than-sympathetic ear annoy her at first, but when she takes him up on his offer to show her around the city, she discovers that the romance of Paris isn’t just a myth.

Nor is the simultaneous O.

The last thing Mia needs is another doomed love affair, but since she only has a week, she figures she might as well enjoy la vie en O with Lucas while she can. But each day—and night—with Lucas is better than the last, and suddenly her heart is telling her this is more than a rebound fling.

Is it just the seduction of Paris…or could this be the real thing?

I loved this story, it really was a breath of fresh air & I think primarily ~ for me ~ it was because I could relate to Mia whole heartedly! She likes order, dislikes chaos & drama and lives her life with aims, aims that if she doesn’t achieve she wont be complete!

So when her fiancĂ© calls off their wedding a week before the big day her world is rocked to it’s core! What does a girl do when her world is upside down, she acts out of the norm, Mia decides, with a little help from her best friends that she’ll still go on her honeymoon to Paris sans groom & try and mend her broken heart.

She doesn’t expect to find a sexy half American working in the first bar she stumbles into but find him she does, and so begins the start of a beautiful journey of finding herself again, facing challenges she didn’t think she was capable of and experiencing her first big “O”.

This story is a light read, sweet, funny, witty & seriously sexy, it’s a delight to see a woman rebuild her crushed self esteem and a man challenge his beliefs in the name of love. Lucas & Mia have chemistry that just shines off the page, I loved how they interacted & complimented each other without ever really trying, it just seemed to happen so effortlessly.

I hope Mia & Lucas are both able to accept each others ways & change just enough of themselves to find their very own definition of a Happy Ever After!

Mia Devine fell hard for Lucas Fournier after their magical week in Paris. But eight months later, the free-spirited half-French musician still hasn't made any promises about their future. And as magnifique as long-distance phone sex is, nothing compares to the real thing.

Fed up with stolen weekends and lonely nights, Mia flies to New York armed with a list of reasons why they should take the next step, but an unexpected guest in Lucas's apartment derails her plans. He’s been keeping secrets--worse, he claims he's happy with the way things are.

Without the magic of Paris, can their mismatched love survive?

Melanie Harlow likes her martinis dry, her lipstick red, and her history with the naughty bits left in. She's a 20th century fanatic and gets her kicks from historical fiction and TV series like Boardwalk Empire, Magic City, Deadwood, Mad Men, and Downtown Abbey (although she wishes it were more HBO and less PBS).

BLOG TOUR ~ Resisting Ryann by Alyssa Rae Taylor!

What happens when the person you love becomes threatened by your very existence? How far will you go to keep them safe?

Luke Ryann will do anything to protect the woman he loves, even if it means shattering her heart. When the mystery of his past comes back to haunt him, he leaves Reese behind and enters the life of crime he had worked so hard to escape. When all is said and done, will he be able to get out of this alive, or will he be in over his head?

She’s been in love with him since her childhood, but now she questions everything. After Reese Johnson discovers Luke’s disappearance has nothing to do with the MMA, she faces a difficult choice. Can she find it in her heart to forgive him? Or will the secrets and lies be too damaging for her to trust again? Will this couple ever have a chance? You know what they say.

Sometimes … love just isn’t enough.

“He abandoned you, Reese. He discarded and abandoned you, but you still love him. It’s clear all over your face.”
I flick my eyes away from his. “I can’t just snap my fingers and turn off my feelings,” I reply, unsure what else to say. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

His eyes soften. “There’s nothing wrong with you. That’s what I’m trying to tell you. Can you consider giving us nicer guys a chance? I’ll wait until you’re ready. You’re worth it to me.”

This book was a real roller coaster, Luke has done the unthinkable and left Reece without any explanation! She’s hurt, confused, angry & just totally lost, it’s been months and all she has are his best friends assurances that he’s gone for all the right reasons - how can that ever be enough?

Of course we know Luke is protecting Reece and his smouldering bad ass self is doing everything in his power to bring down his father so that Reece can live without having to look over her shoulder!

This book has some really emotion packed moments that made me sob. Luke & Reece both face some really tough challenges whilst they’re apart & the only people they want to comfort them cannot be there.

Even though this was the next stage in what is a story of love, it had so much more, action packed, tense, suspenseful & a cliff hanger that leaves you feeling it might take some serious work for these two to get a Happy Ever After - if at all!!
