She Needs a Hero...

Abby Thompson didn't sign up to be the daughter of the President of the United States. The position was forced on her by the small matter of her birth. Preferring a quiet life of study, she's content to leave the politics and the international intrigue to her father. Unfortunately, the most powerful man on the planet is sure to make enemies. When a group of armed thugs takes her hostage half a world away, demanding the U.S. government release prisoners in exchange for her safe return, she fears her father's policy of "not negotiating with terrorists" means she'll never see the shores of the Potomac again. Luckily, there's one glimmer of hope. His name is Carlos Soto. And though she abruptly ended things with him years ago, she knows now he's the only man who can save her…

Black Knights, Inc. to the Rescue...

Carlos "Steady" Soto has taken part in his fair share of dangerous missions working at the covert government defense firm of Black Knights Inc. But nothing prepared him for the emotional rollercoaster he faces when he's tasked with rescuing the only woman he ever loved-who also broke his heart. Racing against time and outmaneuvering a group of trained terrorists will take everything he's got. Plus there's the heat simmering between them which is threatening to ignite into an inferno. While ruthless enemies stalk them, they must learn to trust each other again. Even if they do make it out alive, will Abby turn her back on him... for the second time?

Top 5 Reasons to Buy Full Throttle by Julie Ann Walker
(because she's not above self-promoting like hell! *wink*)

1) The setting is the exotic, steamy jungles of Malaysia... (What better reason for my hero and heroine to take their clothes off, eh? After they escape the bad guys, that is.)

She shivered despite the heat of the jungle air and the sweat slicking her skin. Craning her head around the tree trunk, she struggled to see their pursuers. But a field of green was the only thing to meet her searching eyes.

2) The hero is a dark, dreamy, Hispanic hottie... (Because there's just something about a guy who uses endearments like mi amor and neña.)

She needed release. She needed it so badly. "Si, mi vida," he growled against her lips. "Ride me." Dear. God! She'd never heard anything so sexy. It was almost enough. Almost enough...

3) The plot keeps the hero and heroine on the run...  (There's no better way to ratchet up the tension and keep the characters' blood running hot than to force them to race through the jungle together.)

Steady released the control over his breathing and heartbeat, released the reins on his adrenaline. It poured through his body, burning his veins, making his muscles twitch. There was a saying in the spec-ops community: Fear stands for fuck everything and run. Well, by Dios, that was exactly the plan.

Jerking Abby to her feet, he swung her around, hissing, "Go!"

4) The hero is a tough, tattooed Army Ranger. (Because there's just nothing better than a man in uniform getting out of that uniform.)

His black eyes were fierce, bright with the fire of battle. And while his expression was wonderfully familiar, that particular gleam in his eye was strangely foreign. It made her realize that this was a Carlos she'd never seen before. A warrior. A champion. And though it was a little scary knowing who he was now, what he was now, it also stirred something inside her, something that harkened back to prehistoric times and rode along on that pesky
double-X chromosome.

5) There's a hot, sweaty love scene inside a jungle hut. (Because what else would my hero and heroine do while hiding from crazed radicals and taking shelter during a downpour?)

"Oh, God!" she cried. Because right at that moment he curled his fingers in a come-hither motion inside her, caressing some hidden patch of nerves she'd never known existed. And like the lightning that blazed through the paper-thin cracks of the hut, she exploded...
