Review ~ Holidays with the Walker Brothers

⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW⭐️⭐️⭐️
HOLIDAYS WITH THE WALKER BROTHERS
by Nicole Edwards

Nicole Edwards brings us an early Christmas present wrapped up in the pages of this little beauty.

We get snippets of all seven brothers in this book, the brothers who are all loved up and the brothers that are still fighting conflicting emotions in that confusing path to love.

We start at Thanksgiving and carry right through to New Year with steaminess, secrecy and surprises all around. We even get a sneaky peek at Mamma & Pappa Walker getting it on, no fear though it's all very tasteful & heartwarming, Mrs Edwards knows when to dumb it down hehe.  It's all about family, togetherness & knowing what's important in life.

So, if you're looking to get into the holiday spirit, curl up on the sofa in front of the fire, a hot cocoa, Christmas songs on in the background and this hot little read and you won't go far wrong.

Review ~ Trouble

⭐️⭐️⭐️REVIEW⭐️⭐️⭐️
TROUBLE
by Samantha Towle

I'm a total angst whore, I love it, I thrive off it ~ just not while I'm reading it!!!

This book is an angst fest right off the bat, I was crying by 4% & at 13% & at 28% & at 94%.......(you get the idea) so I just knew this was going to be right up my street even if I did want to shake the author silly whilst I was reading.

Mia Mia Mia!!! Where to begin?? There's no use pretending that art doesn't imitate life because at times it does & Mia is the epitome of a "victim" not a pretty label but it is what it is in this case, even if she's rationalised it in her head as to why she acts the way she does & why she makes totally inane decisions (Cue wanting to shake author silly) she's broken & weak but with that clarity that all of us women possess, she knows only too well where she's failing herself but cannot break that vicious cycle of destruction that's ruled her whole life.

Now Forbes ~ say no more, Samantha Towle is British & Forbes is a poncey name (apologies to any Forbes' reading this but I stand by that statement) it's a name for an entitled asshole & Forbes has entitled asshole written all over him, there's a moment in the book where you could begin to understand him but I quashed that with a "it's time to grow the f**k up and be a real man Forbsie baby!!!!!!"

And then comes Jordan & ok I'll concede he's a bit of an asshole too, to begin with:

Jesus Christ, I cannot stand dramatic women. Nothing turns me off quicker ... well, apart from cuddling.
"Isn't that the point?" I smirk, stepping back. "You want to fuck, and I don't"
I sweep my arm out in the direction of the door. "Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, sweetheart".  (Snigger)

But it's ok because you know that Jordan won't know what's hit him when he's blinded by that ole devil called love <<< I totally quoted a song then, unintentional I promise!

Between them, Jordan and Mia bond but can they heal each other when their pasts are so cruelly entwined, can they overcome the bombshell that is dropped on them, the chaos that surrounds them and get their Happy Ever After???

Yes, this story has been told a million times before but a good author will always shine above all others & for me when a book evokes emotions in me that make me cry, make me want to physically punch someone or throw my iPad at the wall it's got to be 5 emotionally charged stars all the way.

p.s ~ Last but most definitely not least, I LOVE Dozer, he's got a very special place in my heart

p.s.s ~ I'm now off to nurse my major book hangover

Cover Reveal ~ Remembering Us

⭐️⭐️⭐️COVER REVEAL⭐️⭐️⭐️
REMEMBERING US
by Stacey Lynn

Release Date Jan 14th 2014

Synopsis

My life was perfectly mapped out for me since before the day I was born. I followed it, begrudgingly, because it’s what was expected. And then one day, everything changed. I woke up. Different. Independent. Free from all the rules that had surrounded me. Only I have no idea how I got to where I am. I have no memory of graduating college. No memory of Adam, the boyfriend I live with. He loves me. And I love him. At least that’s what everyone says. Except when my memories return to me as dreams, I see a different man than the one everyone claims is perfect for me. He terrifies me. He makes my heart race and he makes me feel things I’ve never felt before. I have no idea if I want to welcome the emotional roller-coaster that his piercing brown eyes and messy black hair puts me on every time I get a glimpse of him, or if I want to run back to the safe shelter of the scripted life-plan that used to be mine.

Review ~ Catch Me

⭐️⭐️⭐️REVIEW⭐️⭐️⭐️
CATCH ME
by Claire Contreras

First let me say that Claire's music taste are outstanding! I found myself opening YouTube and looking up songs many times while reading Catch Me. My iPhone in one hand and my kindle in the other! I love that she gave us songs to put certain scenes of the book with! I felt that much more connected to Nick and Brooklyn!

Brooklyn is a young woman who appears to have the world at her feet. She learned early on in life that being wealthy and the daughter of a music mogul came with its own set of problems. She finds herself betrayed by those closest to her and with very few people who truly care about her. Her battle with depression plays an intricate roll in her life and very much cripples her at times.

Nick aka Shadow is a successful music producer. The moment he sees Brooklyn in the airport he knows that he feels a connection to her. Is he strong enough to break through the barriers Brooklyn has put up to protect herself? Will secrets brought to light keep them apart?

A beautiful love story of overcoming obstacles and finding the strength inside to over come the heart ache that life sometimes throws in our path. I highly recommend you reading this one! You'll love Nick and you will truly feel for Brooklyn!

ADORE ME
(Keaton Chronicles #4.5)
by Jillian Dodd

Adore Me Book 4.5 in the Keatyn Chronicles by Jillian Dodd

As most already know, I'm a HUGE fan of The Keatyn Chronicles by Jillian Dodd. So, don't forget the novella Adore Me is going live November 23rd!

You get to spend Thanksgiving break with Keats in St. Croix and there may be a surprise or two or three. Get ready for a little fun in the sun, and a little bit of soul searching while Keatyn contemplates her next step in her crazy, sexy, scary journey. I promise there will be a whole lot of laughs, tears, and maybe a few super sexy scenes. *wink, wink*. My emotions were all over the place after reading, but that's nothing new when it comes to reading anything by Jillian Dodd!

Happy Reading!

Review ~ Taken

⭐️⭐️⭐️REVIEW⭐️⭐️⭐️
TAKEN
(Breaking the Darkness #1)
by Felicia Starr

Knock Your Books Off was recently given the chance to read an ARC of Taken, the 1st book in the 'Breaking The Darkness' Trilogy by Felicia Starr. It was unique in every way possible. Felicia Starr, allowed her story to unfold in a one of a kind way, and paid lots of attention to detail. She has an amazing way of putting you inside the story and connecting you to the characters.

Taken, is not your everyday kind of paranormal story. I honestly do not read a lot of paranormal stories, but this was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the other's being told these days.

Kasha, is a young woman that is thrown into a strange and new world that could never have existed even in her wildest dreams. When she wakes up to complete darkness, she has no idea where she is or how she got there. How long has she been gone, days?? Weeks? Will any one notice she is missing from her life? Those are just a few of the questions that Kasha ponders while living in complete darkness.

With her recent move, and loss of her truly cherished, and very dear to heart grandmother, Kasha doesn't have very much faith in getting out of the darkness, and back into the light. Amazingly, Kasha finds a way to overcome the darkness that has become her prison, and starts planning to get her life back. Through meditation, dreams, and gaining comforting strength from an extremely special Amulet given to her by her grandmother, Kasha slowly starts to believe she may be something truly extraordinary.

With a slow build up, and one heck of cliffhanger, Taken, introduces you to some out of this world characters, and situations. You will be wondering who exactly Kasha can trust and who should be kept at a distance. Do the people that have been given her trust truly deserve it? And, Gravin and Kaden, two men that accompany Kasha on this new journey she as been forced to take. Are they there to help her or they working towards their own agenda? Are they even actually there? These are just a few of the questions that run through your mind while reading Taken.

Are you ready to step into the darkness, and join Kasha in a whole new kind of paranormal story? If you ask me, and I think you are. You are absolutely 100% ready to take it on!

Happy reading and Thank You to Felicia Starr for allowing Knock Your Books Off to read Taken.

THE TRUTH BEHIND PSYCHO ELMO

THE TRUTH BEHIND PSYCHO ELMO

So guys, you may be asking yourself why there's a pic of Elmo, wielding a knife and spewing profanity on our page.

As you know we're a very new blog & all three of us love reading, we're passionate in fact, I mean I'd NEVER fall out with someone over a fictional character but I'd delete them off FB, remove all trace of them from my life but we wouldn't fall out!!!

SO, back to Elmo ~ well apparently a love of reading and some very good friends are not quite enough to get a blog off the ground, when I say we went into this with eyes wide shut I'm not exaggerating, we were (and still are to some degree) absolutely clueless. I live on the other side of the world so time difference kicks our ass, I'm also a complete control freak so nothing less than perfect will do and it was stressing me out that I couldn't get the blog up and running.
Then I put a shout out in an online book club I'm a member of & a fellow member there offered her help and boy did she help. For hours this week, she talked me through the basics, answered a ton load of questions, kept up with my bombardment of messages, my sulks when I couldn't get it right & just showed endless patience with my technological stupidity!
When we were going through how to upload a pic the only one I had access to was our friend Elmo here, Maranda then said "right we need to set up a link from Elmo" to which I responded "ok, what book says to you ~ Tickle Me One More Time & I'll Cut Your F**king Balls Off" neither of us could type for laughing and I like to think we bonded in that moment lol.
I know she'll be rolling her eyes when she reads this but thank you again Maranda. ❤️

So it was my intention to remove him but I think he's earnt his spot and every time I see or hear a reference to Elmo I'll have a little chuckle at a memory created throught my love of Reading.

The wonderful Maranda who helped me has this blogging thing down so to see how a real blog should look & function then visit the wonderful gals at Sassy Sext Addiction Book Lovers you won't be disappointed.
